   Tabbye M. Chavous will become U-M’s next vice provost for equity and inclusion and chief diversity officer, following a national search and campus community engagement efforts.

   The university is seeking community feedback on the role of chief diversity officer as a national search proceeds. Robert Sellers, who currently holds the position, has agreed to stay on through the search process.

   Provost Susan M. Collins has named a 17-member search advisory committee to conduct a national search for the university’s next vice provost for equity and inclusion and chief diversity officer.

   Deadline extended for those seeking diversity leadership position

   The Office of the Provost has taken the first step toward filling the university’s position of vice provost for equity and inclusion and chief diversity officer. Robert Sellers will step down from the role at the end of the year.
