Photo: Women dentists exhibit at Sundecuse Museum of Dentistry
Jessie Castle LaMoreaux was only woman in her 1896 U-M dental class. After starting her first dental practice at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan, she followed her sister to Dallas in 1897 and was the first woman dentist to practice in Texas. Chancellor outlines decade of growth at UM-Flint
Chancellor Ruth Person reviewed a decade of great progress on the UM-Flint campus, and outlined a vision for the future in a "state of the university" speech Jan. 23. She concluded her address with an announcement that she would step down in 2014, after a one-year extension of her five-year term as chancellor.
