    ECMO survivors picnic gives families, patients time to reflect

    When the U-M Department of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) recently held its bi-annual survivors picnic in Brighton, Mich., a special guest was in attendance. Former ECMO patient 10-year-old Callandra “Callie” Gottschalk showed up with her family a decade after she received life-saving treatment at U-M. She was among approximately 300 people who attended the picnic including ECMO survivors from 3 months old to 75 years, their families and friends, and ECMO team members.

    MPulse performing arts program quickens students’ heartbeats

    Some 200 students from across the globe have come to U-M to attend MPulse Ann Arbor, a summer residency designed to encourage exceptional talent in the performing arts.     Baby clothes rental company co-founder finalist for honor

    It’s being called “Netflix for baby clothes,” and its co-founder, Allen Kim, could soon be called “College Entrepreneur of the Year.” Bebaroo.com is an online rental service for high-end, special occasion baby clothes.     University, lecturers union reach tentative agreement
