U-M researchers have determined how a gene that is known to be defective in Down syndrome is regulated and how its dysregulation may lead to neurological defects, providing insights into potential therapeutic approaches to an aspect of the syndrome.

Active U winners announced; more than 16,000 participate
Active U’s eighth year proved to be its most successful yet. More than 16,200 people participated, approximately 4,000 more than in previous years. Additionally, more than 30.2 million minutes of physical activity were logged during the 12-week challenge, more than any previous year.
