    A place to recharge

Photo of Michigan Medicine employees in a recharge room

Michigan Medicine employees now have spaces where they can ease the stresses of this unusually stressful year. “Recharge Rooms” have been installed in the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, Med Inn and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. In this photo, Jordyn Imhoff, a multimedia communicator for Michigan Medicine, and Brian Nickerson, a University Hospital social worker, enjoy some of the tranquil imagery projected on a video wall in one of the rooms. The rooms were funded by a collective $100,000 in donations from Ken and Kimberly Whipple and Ken and Jeanne Levy-Church. (Photo by Chris Hedly, Michigan Medicine Department of Communication)

    A snowy spring

A photo of tulips bowing to the effects of snow

These tulips were among the many flower blooms and tree blossoms attempting to fight off the chilling effects of a late-season snow that fell across Michigan on Tuesday and early Wednesday morning. The reminder that winter has not quite given way to spring, no matter what the calendar says, could be seen across the Ann Arbor campus as temporary splashes of white painted scenes of sometimes shining, occasionally forlorn beauty.
