Vice provost for enrollment management search underway

Provost Susan M. Collins has appointed a 14-member advisory committee and launched the search for the University of Michigan’s next vice provost for enrollment management.

The committee, co-chaired by Amy Dittmar, senior vice provost for academic and budgetary affairs, and Elizabeth Moje, dean of the School of Education, will assist in the search for a successor to Kedra Ishop, who became vice president for enrollment management at the University of Southern California on Aug. 1. 

Collins said in an email announcing the search advisory committee that she will ask members to conduct a broad search and present to her an unranked slate of recommended candidates. The committee will hold its first meeting Sept. 18.

“I look forward to the selection of a new vice provost who will further enhance the activities of the Office of Enrollment Management,” Collins wrote. “This is an important search and I welcome your support in the process.”

Paul Robinson, associate vice provost and university registrar, has been serving as interim vice provost for enrollment management since Aug. 1.

In addition to Dittmar and Moje, the search advisory committee includes:

  • Laura Blake Jones, dean of students, Office of Student Life.
  • Ethriam Brammer, assistant dean and DEI implementation lead, Rackham Graduate School.
  • Lola Eniola-Adefeso, University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor; professor and vice chair, Department of Chemical Engineering; professor of biomedical engineering and of macromolecular science and engineering, College of Engineering.
  • Cliff Lampe, professor of information, School of Information.
  • Philip Larson, program director for Veteran and Military Services; associate director, Office of New Student Programs.
  • Mika LaVaque-Manty, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor, associate professor of political science and of philosophy, and Director of Academic Programs, LSA Honors Program, LSA.
  • Kim Lijana, director of the Center for Educational Outreach.
  • Scott Piper, Norma L. Heyde Faculty Development Professor of Voice, associate professor of music, School of Music, Theatre & Dance.
  • Stephanie Riegle, executive director for enrollment operations and strategic initiatives, Office of Enrollment Management.
  • Awilda Rodriguez, assistant professor of education, Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education, School of Education.
  • Erica Sanders, director of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Enrollment Management.
  • Karen Zaruba, assistant vice provost for academic and budgetary affairs, Office of Budget and Planning, Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
