Univesity of Michigan United Way Campaign Update

The 1992 pledge forms list 91 agencies that U-M employees may designate to receive all or part of their donation. Contributors may designate one or more of these agencies to indicate the needs they want United Way to give special attention when allocating donations. In addition, individuals may designate their pledges to any other non-profit (501-C-3) health and human service agency, even if not listed on the pledge card.

The pledge card DOES NOT MAKE CLEAR, however, that some of the listed agencies receive funds ONLYwhen individuals designate their donation to that agency. The following agencies are affected:

Community Action Network Community Dental Center

Community Leaning Post Community Residence Corporation

COPE – O’Brien Center Domino House

Family Law Project Father Patrick Jackson House/Problem

Friends in Deed Pregnancy Help

Full Circle Community Center Growth Works

Hope Medical Clinic Housing Bureau for Seniors

Interfaith Counseling Service Jewish Community Center of Washtenaw County

Leaders in Prevention Learning Disabilities Association of Michigan,

Legal Services of Southeastern Michigan Washtenaw County Chapter

Motor Meals of Ann Arbor Myasthenia Gravis Association

Neighborhood Senior Services Packard Community Clinic

Planned Parenthood of Mid-Michigan Pregnancy Counseling Center/Family Life Services

Project Transition Soundings Center for Women

Trailblazers of Washtenaw Washtenaw Literacy

World Medical Relief Youth Housing Coalition

In order for any United Way money to go to an agency listed above, individuals must mark their pledge cards to that effect. A brief description of each agency is included in 1992 Agency Directory. If you have a question about any of these agencies, please call the agency directly.
