Units schedule individual commencement ceremonies

Most of the University’s schools and colleges will hold their own spring commencement exercises, in addition to the all-University commencement.

The all-University ceremony, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday (May 1) in Michigan Stadium with first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton as speaker, will be open to graduating students from all schools and colleges. It will serve as the principal commencement exercise for LS&A and Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies students.

—College of Architecture and Urban Planning: 7:30 p.m., May 1, Power Center for the Performing Arts. Reception in Power Center lobby.

—School of Art: 3 p.m., May 1, Rackham Auditorium. Reception in Slusser Gallery, Art and Architecture Building.

—School of Business Administration: 7 p.m., April 30, Crisler Arena. Speaker: William Davidson, president of Guardian Industries Corp. and managing director of the Detroit Pistons.

—School of Dentistry: 11 a.m., May 9, Power Center. Speaker: Geraldine Morrow, past president of American Dental Association.

—School of Education: 3:30 p.m., May 1, Hill Auditorium. Speaker: Gloria Johnson-Powell, professor of child psychiatry, Harvard Medical School. Reception in Alumni Center.

—College of Engineering: 5 p.m., May 1, Crisler Arena. Speaker: James A. McDivitt, senior vice-president at Rockwell, International.
