UMTRI receives $790,500 grant

The University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) has received a $790,500 grant from the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association of the United States Inc. (MVMA).

The grant will support research projects and includes $185,000 in discretionary funds that will be used to maintain and upgrade equipment, to generate new program initiatives, and to support UMTRI’s research library.

“This is a gift to UMTRI, but it will also allow us to continue to make our resources available to the University community, as well as business and industry and government researchers,” said UMTRI Director Patricia F. Waller.

The MVMA will maintain advisory groups of industry engineers and scientists to assist UMTRI in its efforts.
