UMTRI keeps on truckin’ 
Analyzing the effect of heavy truck loads on roads and bridges is an important part of the ongoing work at the Great Lakes Center for Truck and Transit Research at the U-M Transportation Research Institute. Established in 1988, the Center is funded by a $1 million annual grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Other current projects include research on heavy truck performance, driving behaviors and safety standards.
