A U-M assistant professor testified before a U.S. Senate panel Tuesday about investment in information technology in health care.

Julia Adler-Milstein, assistant professor of information, and health management and policy, spoke at a hearing of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions.

She addressed how the nation can better ensure that the substantial investment in health information technology made over the past decade translates into improved health care for all Americans.

She also discussed challenges that need to be addressed and important places where policymaking can make a difference.
