Turner Geriatric Clinic’s Learning in Retirement program will offer a series of weekly mini courses this fall taught by emeritus professors. An open house to kick off the program will be held at 3 p.m. Wed. (Sept. 8) at the 20/20 Cafe, Kellogg Eye Center.
Courses offered this fall include: B.C.: A Panorama of Life & Thought in the Near East by Louis Orlin; Writing: Emphasis on Personal Narrative by James Robertson; Broadway’s Golden Age: 1925–69 by Edward Stasheff; James Joyce’s Dubliners by William Steinhoff; and Senior Housing Environments: What Do We Need/Want? with Robert Metcalf. The fee for each mini course is $10. Courses will last six to 10 weeks.
Study groups will include contemporary American poetry, opera, current events and travel. For information, call 764-2556, mornings.
