Todd Baily named AVP for development, campaign strategy, initiatives

Todd Baily, campaign director for the university’s $5.28 billion Victors for Michigan campaign, has been named associate vice president for development, campaign strategy and initiatives in the Office of University Development.

His appointment, effective July 1, was approved June 20 by the Board of Regents.

In this position, Baily will serve as a key partner in achieving the strategic goals and vision for philanthropy at the University of Michigan. He will plan and execute high-level fundraising and operational goals in coordination with institutional leaders, manage a portfolio of major and leadership gift prospects, and provide leadership to development services and strategic solutions, marketing and communications and planned giving.

As associate vice president, Baily will report to Tom Baird, the university’s vice president for development.

“In addition to his strong leadership, broad university experience and vast professional knowledge, we benefit from Todd’s warm personality and integrity, which greatly impacts his relationships with donors and colleagues across the university,” Baird says.

Baily’s experience in fundraising and higher education runs deep. He began his fundraising career in the Office of University Development as a regional director and served as assistant dean for development and alumni relations at the Law School from 2004-2015.

Previously, Baily held positions at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Vanderbilt University and Bowling Green State University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College.
