Three will read from works in February Visiting Writers Series
Novelists Lorrie Moore and Jaimy Gordon and poet William Matthews will give free, public readings of their works during the University’s Visiting Writers Series in February.
Moore, a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin, will present her works at 3 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Rackham Amphitheater. She has published the novels Who Will Run the Frog Hospital? and Anagrams, as well as the children’s book The Forgotten Helper and two collections of short stories.
Gordon, a professor of English at Western Michigan University, will read at 5 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Rackham Amphitheater. She has written the novels She Drove Without Stopping and Shamp of the City-Solo.
Matthews, a professor of English at the City College of the City University of New York, will read his poetry at 4 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Rackham Amphitheater. He has written 10 books of poetry, including Time & Money, Blues If You Want, A Happy Childhood, Rising and Falling and Sleek for the Long Flight.
Sponsored by the Department of English and Borders Books and Music, the Visiting Writers Series features fiction and poetry readings by distinguished authors throughout the academic year.
