The Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden is bursting with color and is expected to continue blooming through mid-June. Believed to be the largest collection of heirloom herbaceous peonies in North America, the garden produces up to 10,000 flowers at peak bloom and is open every day from sunrise to sunset. The peony garden is open to the public this year after being closed during 2020 due to the pandemic. This is one of the historic herbaceous peony cultivars that were introduced into gardens throughout the 19th century and into the first half of the 20th. Delta Wilseck was visiting the gardens with her family and enjoyed smelling the peonies.
