Tedesco will oversee Michigan Mandate, Agenda for Women

Lisa Tedesco, professor of dentistry and associate dean for academic affairs in the School of Dentistry, has been appointed presidential associate for special programs. She will have responsibility in the President’s Office for general oversight of the Michigan Mandate and the Michigan Agenda for Women.

“President Neal has heard very clearly the voices of the University community when President Duderstadt was stepping down that the Mandate and Agenda not be idle,” Tedesco says. “I will help connect the Agenda and Mandate between presidencies and take stock of where the initiatives are and the challenges that lie ahead.

“I support the value President Neal places on these initiatives,” she adds.

“I am delighted that Professor Tedesco has agreed to take a leadership role in the University’s efforts to move forward with the Michigan Mandate and the Michigan Agenda for Women,” says interim President Homer A. Neal. “She brings a breadth and depth of experience as a faculty member and proven administrator to this important assignment.

“In some parts of the University we’ve made significant progress in creating an academic community where women and men from various backgrounds can achieve success,” Neal adds. “However, universitywide there is still much to be done. With her vision and leadership, Dr. Tedesco will help us multiply our successes.”
