Engineering recognizes six staff

Six College of Engineering staff members received Excellence in Staff Service Awards at a reception May 28. Each received a $1,000 cash prize and a certificate, and their names were added to a plaque on display at the College. Those honored were (from left) Joseph G. Krasny, Edward A. Birdsall, Sharon R. Burch, Mary S. Kurta, Maria E. Steele and Anna L. Babbit.

Four receive ABPAFS awards

Four members of the University community recently received awards from the Association for Black Professionals, Administrators, Faculty and Students at the organization’s “United for Advancement” ceremony, its 12th aniversary recognition and awards program.

Randolph A. Skeete, staff counselor, Medical School administration, received the Outstanding Public Service Award. Joyce A. French, senior data archives specialist, Center for Political Studies, and Audrey M. Lucas, human resource consultant, Medical Center, both received the Career Service Award. Sociology Prof. Donald R. Deskins Jr., received the Charles D. Moody Sr. Higher Achievement Award.

In addition, Henry Johnson, vice president emeritus for student services and community relations, received the Exemplar Award.
