Some benefits confirmations incomplete
Due to a computer programming error, benefits confirmation statements sent to some 6,000 faculty and staff earlier this month are incomplete and may be misleading.
Two situations have problems:
Individuals with four to six dependents had only three listed.
The cash back amount for those who did not elect life insurance was not printed.
In both of these cases, says Marti Eichstadt, director of benefits, “the computer records are correct. Only the printed confirmation statement is incorrect.”
Eichstadt says Benefits Office staff have processed new confirmation statements by hand for just under 6,000 persons, and they were to be in the mail by the end of last week.
Individuals who may be concerned about their benefits elections can call the Benefits Enrollment Line, 763-0425 in Ann Arbor, 1-800-236-1492 outside of Ann Arbor, to review them.
