Search launched for DPS chief
An eight-member search committee for the director of public safety has been appointed by Henry D. Baier, associate vice president for facilities and operations. The current director, Leo Heatley, will be retiring after 20 years with the U-M.
Members of the University community are encouraged to submit names for consideration. They should be send to Director of Public Safety and Security Search Committee, 3040 Fleming Administration Bldg. 1940. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. To be assured considerations during initial screening, applications (two copies of a letter and resume) should be submitted no later than Feb. 26. Committee members are:
Suellyn Scarnecchia, chair, associate dean for clinical affairs, Law School, and member, Campus Safety and Security Advisory Committee; Royster Harper, associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students; Mary Krasny, director of facilities services, Health Systems Operations.
Barbara MacAdam, librarian and head, Library Education and Information Services, University Library, and member, Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs; Lester Monts, associate provost for academic affairs; Robert Ortega, associate professor of social work; Ronald Schebil, Washtenaw County sheriff; and Richard Sucre, student.
Mary Manor will provide staff support for the committee.
