A project to repair the Thompson Street Parking Structure roof deck and install roof deck coating, and complete work on Level 1, starts July 7 and runs through August.
The work is scheduled to be done in the following phases:
• Phase 1 — July 7-14. Levels 7 and 8 will be closed — affecting approximately 145 spaces — for concrete repairs and drainage improvements.
The project will be suspended July 15-20 due to the Ann Arbor Art Fairs and Levels 7 and 8 will be reopened.
• Phase 2 — July 23-27. Level 1 (the new west side of the structure) will be closed for deck coating.
The Division Street entrance and exit, and pedestrian walkways through the structure will be closed during these five days. Vehicles will have to enter and exit from Thompson Street. The basement stairs will be closed, except for emergency egress.
Level 1 Gold parkers may park in empty spaces on the Level 1-to-2 ramp or above. If increased capacity is necessary during this phase, temporary Gold spaces will be installed on the ramp.
Business vehicle parkers may park in empty spaces on Level 2 and above. In addition, they may use the W29 (gravel) Lot on Division Street at Jefferson.
• Phase 3 — Aug. 11-20. Levels 7 and 8 will be closed for joint and cove sealant work.
• Phase 4 — Aug. 21-29. Levels 7 and 8 will be closed for deck coating application and striping.
The structure will reopen Sept. 1.
