The following items were approved by the Board of Regents at its April 16 meeting.
Design approved for Engineering Programs Building addition
Regents approved the schematic design of the planned addition to the Engineering Programs Building. The 10,000-gross-square-foot structure to the east side of EPB will provide additional space for the College of Engineering‘s Wilson Student Team Project Center. The $4.8 million project is being funded by the College of Engineering and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2010.
Revised design for Thompson Street parking structure approved
The planned addition to the west side of the Thompson Street parking structure was revised in response to bids for the original project exceeding the budget. The revised project will add 273 parking spaces for Central Campus, as well as 9,000 gross square feet of offices for both Parking and Transportation Services and the Office of Budget and Planning. The $15.7 million project is being funded from Parking resources and investment proceeds and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2010.
Parking rates revised for FY 2010
Commuters with blue, yellow, or orange parking permits will not see their parking rates increase in fiscal year 2010. In an item for information presented to the Board of Regents, previously planned increases for all but gold parking permits have been changed to hold parking costs steady next year. Gold permit holders will see their rates increase by 4.5 percent in July, as previously announced in February 2007.
