Regents’ forums updated

Editor’s Note: Here’s an update on the Board of Regents’ schedule of public forum sessions with respect to the selection of the University’s next president. Supervisors are encouraged by Executive Vice President and Provost J. Bernard Machen and Farris W. Womack, executive vice president and chief financial officer, to give release time to staff who wish to attend one of the sessions.

Dec. 14, 10 a.m.-noon: a session for alumni in the Founder’s Room, Alumni Center, moderated by Steve Grafton, executive director of the Alumni Association.

Dec. 14, 2-4 p.m.: a session for staff members, in the Vandenberg Room, Michigan League, moderated by Jackie McClain, executive director, Human Resources and Affirmative Action, and Rhetaugh Dumas, vice provost for health affairs.

Jan. 10, 5-7 p.m., in Grand Rapids/Western Michigan: an open forum. Location and moderator to be announced.

Jan. 17, 5-7 p.m., in metropolitan Detroit: an open forum. Location and moderator to be announced.

Jan. 18, 10 a.m.-noon, at U-M-Flint: a session for faculty, staff and students, in the Michigan Rooms, University Center, to be moderated by Flint Chancellor Charlie Nelms.

Jan. 18, 3-5 p.m., at U-M-Dearborn: a session for faculty, staff and students, to be moderated by Dearborn Chancellor James Renick. Campus location will be announced.

Jan. 19, 10 a.m.-noon: an open forum at the Gerald R. Ford Library, moderated by Walter Harrison, vice president for university relations.

To sign up for forums in advance, call the Regents’ Office, 936-2255. Speakers are asked to limit their remarks to three minutes.
