The University Record is now available to readers on the World Wide Web, thanks to the efforts of computer consultant Scott Tyrrell. Although it is still being revised, The University Record is available in full format to those who can access the World Wide Web, either through a computer on campus, at home or another offsite location. The Record’s current publication day is Tuesday, but readers on the Web usually can access the current publication by Monday afternoon. Information contained on the Web site is the same as will appear in the Tuesday edition.

Photo and graphic images are available in the April 16, 1996 issue and later, as well as full text of articles and regular features like Kudos, On Ramp and News Briefs. Issues published before April 16 contain only text. A keyword search function is under construction so readers will be able to look for articles on particular topics.

To access The University Record on the Web, use the URL http://www.umich.edu/~newsinfo. The site includes pointers to other offerings from the office of News and Information Services, such as news releases. Since the Web site is constantly being updated and upgraded, comments and suggestions are welcome. Please send them to Tyrrell at [email protected] To reach Record staff by e-mail, send mail to Rebecca Doyle at [email protected] or to Jared Blank, [email protected].
