Pride-Awareness-Commitment Week begins today

The Lesbian-Gay Male-Bisexual Programs Office’s (LGMBPO) Pride-Awareness-Commitment Week begins today (Oct. 11) with an open house and reception 4:30–6:30 p.m. at Counseling Services, 3100 Michigan Union. A rally will be held at 7 p.m. today on the steps of the Rackham Building. Rain location is the Henderson Room, Michigan League. The rally will be followed by a meeting of the Michigan Campaign for Human Dignity in the Henderson Room.
Also scheduled:
Lesbian-Gay Male-Bisexual Asian Discussion Group at noon Wednesday (Oct. 13), LGMBPO Lounge, 3116 Michigan Union.
Van Sheets of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees will speak at a workshop titled “Gay-Lesbian-Bi Activism in the Workplace” 4–6:30 p.m. Oct. 13, Lamplighter Restaurant, 421 E. Liberty, and about “Homophobia and Work: Activism and Coming Out At Work” 7–9 p.m. in Lecture Hall 1, Modern Languages Bldg.
Workshops at noon by Taylor-Anne Wentworth and at 4 p.m. by Billi Gordon Thursday (Oct. 14) in the LGMBPO Lounge. A potluck dinner for graduate students will follow at 6 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Dean of Students Conference Room, 3000 Michigan Union.
Terri Jewell will read poetry at 7 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 16) at Common Language Bookstore, 214 S. Fourth Ave.
A brunch reception for Terri Jewell will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 17) at Common Language. The week will conclude with workshops 1–4 p.m. Oct. 17 at the LGMBPO.
