Five-and-a-half-year-old Laura Stern samples the buffet at the reception with her father Lawrence following the Sarah Goddard Power Award ceremony last week. Her mother, Linda Groat, and Maria Comninou were presented with the 1998 awards. This year, recipients also were given a $500 cash award as well as the certificates. When her mother’s name was called, Laura shouted ‘Mommy!’ showing not only how proud she was, but reminding the audience that Groat plays multiple roles. Photo by Rebecca A. Doyle
