Reward offered for assault at the Arb

The University of Michigan is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in an Oct. 7 sexual assault in Nichols Arboretum.

The suspect reportedly grabbed a student’s arm as she was running near the Arb entrance off Geddes Road at approximately 8 p.m. He pulled her to the ground, punched her in the face and sexually assaulted her. She was able to break free and run out of the Arb. A crime alert was issued Oct. 7 and can be viewed at the DPSS website at dpss.umich.edu.

Subject arrested in burglary of Coliseum

A 27-year-old Ann Arbor man was arrested October 29 for illegal entry of the Coliseum Building after hours.  While driving by the building at 6 a.m., a University Police officer had observed an open building door.  The intoxicated man was found inside.  The only property that appeared to be missing were food items.  The man was released pending warrant authorization from the county prosecutor’s office.
