Visitor charged with two felonies

A visitor has been arraigned on two felony charges in connection with an assault and robbery July 13 at the Fletcher Street parking structure and Dental School. The 24-year-old suspect is charged with sexually assaulting a staff member, who he previously dated, in the structure. He also is charged with unarmed robbery for stealing her car keys after following her into the Dental School. U-M Police had been called to the scene, located the suspect nearby, arrested him and took him to jail. He remains in jail pending court appearances. 

Visitor arrested for sexual misconduct

A Diag visitor was arrested July 26 after reportedly assaulting a student around 7 p.m. The student reported that as she was sitting on a Diag bench, she was approached by an unknown man who kept asking her questions and then began touching her. The 28-year-old suspect was arrested, processed and released pending warrant authorization by the county prosecutor’s office.

Report of sexual misconduct under investigation

A subject staying at Couzens Hall reported that she had been inappropriately touched by someone she knew in another room July 23 around 6:30 p.m. The investigation is continuing.

Stinchfield Woods building broken into

A door to the caretaker’s home at Stinchfield Woods in Pinckney was found damaged July 5, likely from subjects attempting to enter the building. Similar incidents have been reported in recent months. No property appeared to be missing. There are no suspects.
