Suspect poses as student in residence hall
A 17 year-old Ann Arbor male posed as a student to obtain living quarters in West Quadrangle in early November. He had succeeded in fraudulently obtaining an Mcard, as well as a room. His unlawful acts were discovered when a nearby resident reported the theft of clothing and other personal items valued at $875. The suspect has been charged with home invasion, theft and fraudulently obtaining a financial transaction device. He is awaiting a pre-trial hearing, set for Jan. 9, 2001, in 22nd Circuit Court.
Suspects apprehended in fraternity larceny
DPS officers apprehended two suspects after they were caught in the act of stealing property from a fraternity house on State St. Nov. 19. People at the fraternity were attempting to detain the suspects when DPS officers arrived on the scene. One suspect was apprehended inside the house, while the other suspect was captured in front of the Michigan Union. Since the incident occurred off campus, both suspects were turned over to the Ann Arbor Police Department for prosecution.
