Car break-ins reported on North Campus

Several Northwood Community Apartment residents reported to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) that their personal vehicles had been broken into Jan. 6. In each case a window was broken and a Global Positioning System (GPS) device was missing. Drivers are encouraged to ensure valuables, including iPods and GPS devices, are secured and not visible from the outside of vehicles. Anyone with information about these break-ins is asked to contact DPS at (734) 763-3434.

Vehicle stolen from Coliseum lot

A graduate student reported Dec. 11 that his 1997 Plymouth Voyager was stolen that day from lot SC9 near the Coliseum on Hill Street. DPS has no suspects

Schembechler Hall broken into

DPS is investigating an early December attempted breaking-and-entering of Schembechler Hall. Staff reported to DPS that between 11 p.m. Dec. 1 and 9 a.m. Dec. 2, a large, exterior, double-pane window near the training room was broken. A locked, inside door also was damaged but access was not gained. Nothing was reported missing after the incident.

Laptop found from Markley burglary

A laptop computer that was reported stolen Dec. 16 from a Mary Markley Hall resident’s room was found later the same evening. A DPS investigation continues.
