Two students robbed off campus

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) issued a crime alert Feb. 1 after two students were robbed in their off-campus apartment earlier that day.

The students reported to Ann Arbor Police officers that three Black men, one with a handgun, entered their apartment in the 500 block of Hill Street through an unlocked door. The men reportedly took personal belongings from the students before fleeing. The men are described as being 6 feet tall and in their early 20s. They were last seen dressed in black clothing with their faces covered.

The Ann Arbor Police Department (AAPD) is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. Call (734) 994-2397 or the AAPD tip line at (734) 996-3199 with information.

DPS uses radar units for traffic enforcement

U-M police officers will be conducting special traffic enforcement during January on Hayward and Hubbard roads. With their newly acquired radar units, the officers can objectively measure the speed drivers are traveling on campus streets. DPS has received numerous complaints that drivers travel at high rates of speed on North Campus roads often to avoid traveling the busier Plymouth Road. Speed limits on campus streets are 25 m.p.h.
