Weekend robbery in Church carport

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is looking for two men who allegedly robbed a visitor early Sept. 6 in the Church Street parking structure. The visitor, who was not injured in the incident, reported to police that he was approached around 2:30 a.m. by the suspects, one of whom demanded: “Give me what you got.”

One suspect is described as a Black male, 22 to 23 years old, and 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a baseball hat over a skull cap and braids; a multi-colored, cotton jacket; blue jeans and Timberland boots. The second suspect is described as a Black male, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 9 inches tall, bald, with large eyes and facial hair on his chin. He was last seen wearing black, baggy jeans.

Four arrested for drug violations

Three men and a woman visiting campus were arrested Aug. 25 in a parking lot near 109 E. Madison. They were apprehended for possession of drugs, including with the intent to deliver.

Computers, projectors missing

Several computers and computer equipment were reported stolen Aug. 15 from the Space Research building on North Campus. The equipment was missing from several rooms. A window was discovered open during the investigation.

Additionally, four liquid crystal display projectors were reported to have been stolen Aug. 28 from the Taubman Medical Library. None of the rooms had been locked.

Student reports stolen tickets

A student in Bursley Hall reported his football tickets had been stolen from his room Aug. 29. He had left his room unattended and unlocked.

Two burglary reports from Alice Lloyd

A summer program participant residing in the Alice Lloyd residence hall reported the theft of a wallet Aug. 6. Automatic door locks with card readers recently had been installed on the room doors in Alice Lloyd, but the resident had failed to shut the door while leaving the room briefly.

On Aug. 10, a student reported the theft of his belongings. Everything later was recovered when it was discovered staff had emptied the room in preparation for the new semester.

Theft from car at Botanical Gardens

A visitor to the Botanical Gardens reported Aug. 24 that the window in her vehicle had been broken out and several items stolen while she walked through the grounds.

Suspect found in taxi

A man who was arguing with a taxi driver Aug. 16 was found to match the description of a man the Ann Arbor Police (AAPD) wanted for questioning. A DPS officer was investigating a disturbance between the man and the taxi driver near the 700 block of Packard Street and observed that the man matched the description issued earlier by AAPD in connection with recent damage done to several vehicles in the area. The man was turned over to the AAPD.

Two break-ins discovered

Two campus locations were reported to have been entered illegally. The medical treatment office at Michigan Stadium was broken into Aug. 14, and Burton Tower on Aug. 18. Nothing was reported stolen in either incident.

Patient threatens staff

A patient at University Hospital threatened staff and security officers with a brick Aug. 27 before he could be restrained. No one was injured in the incident.

Moped stolen, recovered

A student reported Aug. 7 that his moped had been stolen after he left it unsecured near the Student Publications Building. The moped has recovered Aug. 21, when it was found parked in Lot W18. Some damage to the ignition was reported.
