Subject assaulted by unknown man at Kellogg Eye Center

unknown man reportedly pushed a pedestrian down in a parking lot outside the Kellogg Eye Center at about 1 p.m. March 29. The suspect then fled the area riding a bicycle. See Crime Alert 18-03 on the Division of Public Safety and Security website (www.dpss.umich.edu) for details.

Known subject assaulted visitor

A campus visitor reported March 9 that she had been sexually assaulted by a University of Michigan student three times in February at the Alice Lloyd Residence Hall. The investigation has been submitted to the county prosecutor’s office for review of possible charges.

Student reports being assaulted by a guest

A U-M student reported March 24 that she had been sexually assaulted during the previous night by her guest in South Quadrangle Residence Hall. The investigation is continuing.

Visitor arrested for assault

A visitor was arrested March 27 on allegations of inappropriately touching a University Hospital patient. The suspect was arrested, processed and released pending warrant authorization by the county prosecutor’s office.

Initial report of an assault two years ago

University police received a second-hand report March 14 that a subject was sexually assaulted in March 2016 by another patient at Mott Children’s Hospital. The investigation is continuing.

Subject reported assault in University Hospital

A subject reported that she had been sexually assaulted by an employee while seeking emergency medical treatment March 30. She later declined to participate in the investigation.

Patient brandished knife at employees

Four employees were uninjured March 16 as they secured a knife that a patient in the University Hospital emergency department was brandishing at them. The subject also was uninjured. The investigation has been submitted to the county prosecutor’s office for review of possible charges.

Student arrested for aggravated assault

A U-M student was arrested March 16 after he reportedly threw a metal chair at a visitor during an altercation at the Michigan Coliseum. The suspect was arrested, processed and released pending warrant authorization by the county prosecutor’s office.

Two suspects charged in two residence hall burglaries

One visitor was arrested April 7 in connection with two burglaries at residence halls. Arrest warrants have been authorized for a second suspect. The two suspects are charged with stealing a laptop and wallet from a South Quadrangle room and other personal items from a West Quadrangle room between 10 and 11 p.m. March 25. Both rooms had been unoccupied at the time of the burglaries. The property was recovered around 11:20 p.m. in the lower level of the Michigan Union as police searched for the suspects.

Building windows broken at Stinchfield Woods

Exterior windows in a Stinchfield Woods building near Pinckney were found broken March 16. The incident occurred sometime since Feb. 12. No property was reported missing and there are no suspects.
