Photo: Woodson donates $2M to children’s hopital

Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson, left, visits with and gives an autographed football to 14-year-old Todd Bonnici, a patient at the C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Women’s Hospital. Woodson, a former U-M football standout and 1997 Heisman trophy winner, has made a gift of $2 million to the hospital, which is scheduled to open a new $754 million facility in fall of 2012. Woodson’s gift will support groundbreaking pediatric research by funding The Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund. The fund will advance the work of researchers doing early-stage work to help children with illnesses that include cancer, heart disease, kidney disorders and autism.
