Riding a bicycle is one way to conserve energy resources on campus, and getting bikes properly registered was part of Energy Fest 2005 Sept. 13 on the Central Campus Diag. Here, Department of Public Safety (DPS) officer Marlanna Landeros helps Chamaree de Silva, a biophysics graduate student, register her bicycle. The City of Ann Arbor requires that all bikes be registered, and DPS officers assist riders with the process at the beginning of every fall term. The annual energy festival, which concluded Sept. 15 on the North Campus Portico Plaza, showcases the University’s commitment to energy conservation, efficiency and alternative technologies.
