Marian McPartland, host of National Public Radio’s “Piano Jazz,” performs at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at Hill Auditorium. During 65 years of performing, McPartland has mentored countless musicians, spearheaded efforts in jazz education and served as a jazz ambassador.
