Photo: Growth and Evolution at the Clements Library through Feb. 1

This world map is featured in the exhibit Growth and Evolution of the Clements Library, 1903 to 2007, curated by Director John Dann. Based on the classical geography of Claudius Ptolemy, it was published in Ulm in 1486. Curator Clayton Lewis says this woodblock print map is important as it represents the best geographic information of the known world just prior to Columbus’ voyage. The exhibit is on display through Feb. 1. (Photo by Paul Jaronski)
