    U-M outlines approach for COVID-19 vaccinations on campus

    U-M has begun receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and will start vaccinating its health care workers as the first step in a program to eventually distribute the vaccine throughout the university.

    Registration open for 2021 Kids Kare at Home backup child care

    Registration is open for Kids Kare at Home, a service for those times when regular care is unavailable, but the parent must be on campus or at work. A Kids Kare caregiver may be available to provide backup care in the home.

    Carbon neutrality commission draft recommendations to be released Dec. 17

    The President’s Commission on Carbon Neutrality, charged with recommending strategies for U-M to achieve net-zero emissions, expects to release a draft of its recommendations Dec. 17. Comments will be accepted through Jan. 22.

    Anthony Kolenic named director of Matthaei-Nichols

    Anthony J. Kolenic will become director of the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum. Kolenic’s five-year appointment is effective March 1, 2021, and he succeeds Bob Grese, who retired in June 2020.

    Record email taking a holiday break until Jan. 11

    The University Record currently is on holiday break. Regular daily issues of the Record email, as well as the weekly print edition, will return Jan. 11.

    A new Syllabus Statement for Student Well-Being that is more comprehensive than the older mental health syllabus statement, and offers more campus resources to assist students is now available.

    Michigan Medicine is launching a holiday effort Dec. 14-22 encouraging the campus and local communities to help address a record demand for food and supplies amid the surging pandemic.

    U-M’s Population Studies Center has received a $1 million gift from alumnus Marshall Weinberg to support a specialized demographic apprenticeship for predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars.

    With many parents and children working and learning from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, U-M plans to help faculty and staff with child care needs by offering two new resources in early 2021.

    Electronic consent process now open for 2020 Form W-2

    U-M employees who have not consented to receive an electronic PDF copy of their Form W-2 can do so in Wolverine Access. Those who have consented since 2018 do not have to take further action.
