Obituary — Lee West Jones Jr.
Lee West Jones Jr., D.D.S., died at home, peacefully in his sleep, Sept. 6. He was 87 years old. In 1971, Jones became the first minority admissions recruiter for the School of Dentistry.

James Henry McIntosh, professor emeritus of English and American culture at the University of Michigan, died of a stroke Aug. 30 at his home in Ann Arbor in the presence of his wife, Elaine K. Gazda, and daughter, Karina McIntosh.

Leaders say threat from web post mitigated; classes to continue
President Mark Schlissel and Provost Susan M. Collins told the Ann Arbor campus community a shooting threat that had been posted online has been mitigated and that classes and activities will continue as scheduled.
