Joseph Timothy Marks, 75, died Nov. 23, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family.
He leaves behind a legacy of creativity, dedication and a life well-lived. Joseph was the beloved husband of Madge Marks for 44 years, and the cherished father of Michah Marks. He was the brother of the late Janice Prantera and Jim (the late Sylvia) Marks.
Joseph will be fondly remembered and missed by his nieces and nephews, Steven (Wilma) Marks, Kathy Marks, Randy Marks, Antonina Abby and Antonio Prantera.
Joseph’s impact reached far beyond his family. He dedicated his professional life to academia, retiring as curator emeritus at UM-Dearborn.
His passion for art was evident in his active participation in numerous art shows and judging events. Notably, Joseph served as a juror for U.S. Rep. John Dingell’s Congressional Art Show, a competition showcasing the artistic talents of Michigan high school students.
Joseph Timothy Marks will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the warmth, kindness, and artistic spirit that touched the lives of those around him. May he rest in eternal peace.
