Jan Smith of Pittsfield died Nov. 19 at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor at the age of 67. She was born June 6, 1954, in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of James and Anne (Branan) Winslow.
Jan was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Ypsilanti. She was active with the University of Michigan Retirees Association, the choir of Peace Lutheran Church in Southfield, and a number of health and nursing promotion activities throughout the area.
Jan is a retiree from the faculty of the School of Nursing.
On Feb. 22, 1992, she married Bradley W. Smith in Willoughby, Ohio. She is survived by her husband; her sister, Lu Anne (Winslow) Schwarz; a niece, Anne-Marie (Jake); a nephew, Karl; and two grandnieces. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Jan’s life took place Dec. 4 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Ypsilanti.
