Ernie N. Ushiro passed away March 22 at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Lemoore, Calif., Feb. 10, 1937, and later moved to Ann Arbor. He was employed by the U-M for 42 years and retired from the Institute for Social Research Jan. 12. He is survived by his mother, Sue Ushiro; sister, Marilyn (Peter) Hayashi of Chicago; eight nieces and nephews; eight grandnieces and grandnephews; and fiancee, Denise Rhodes.
