Nominations sought for the Business and Finance Distinguished Staff Award Program

Farris W. Womack, vice president and chief financial officer, has announced that nominations are being sought for the second annual Business and Finance Distinguished Staff Award Program.

The program is designed to recognize exceptional service by business and finance staff members to the University and to the community.

A committee of seven staff members from business and finance units will chose award recipients, who will be recognized at an awards ceremony and dinner and will receive a $500 cash award.

Award criteria include:

  • Ongoing excellence in performance of work, making a significant difference in the success of the department or unit.

  • Demonstration of unusual initiative or creativity in the performance of their work, including innovations that will improve the quality of the work, or save significant time or money.

  • Demonstration of outstanding teamwork, cooperation and/or leadership, contributing to the success of teammates and colleagues.

  • Outstanding achievement contributing directly to the accomplishment of University goals.

  • Significant achievement in providing service to clients: contributions to the success of students, service to faculty, other staff, families of students, etc.

  • Identification as an outstanding supervisor who contributes to an unusual extent to the success of staff.

  • Outstanding or unusual service in meeting special needs on campus or in the community.

    Nominations are due July 1 in Room 3014, Fleming Administration Building. Forms are available at the Personnel Service Centers, Human Resource Development Office, Payroll Office, Cashier’s Office Plant Business Office, and Room 3014, Fleming Building.
