Students and others gathered on the Diag April 7 for a candlelight vigil protesting the violence of the March 24 killing of four students and one teacher and the injury of nine other students and one teacher in Jonesboro, Ark.
The vigil was sponsored by the Name the Violence Committee, whose members include Virginia Chitanda, director of the Sexual Asssault Prevention and Awareness Center; Beth Hackett and Lara Zador of the women’s studies program; and Kate Mehuron of Eastern Michigan University’s women’s studies program.
