Memorial services scheduled for U-M victims of plane crash
Memorial services will be held this week for Betty Jean Jones, associate dean of the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies, and Arati Sharangpani, LS&A senior, who died in the Jan. 9 crash of Comair flight 3272.
The service for Betty Jean Jones will begin at 5 p.m. Thurs. (Jan. 23), with a formal service at the Rackham Building Amphitheater, followed by a celebratory reception at the Trueblood Theatre in the Frieze Building (next door to Rackham). Jones had been professor of theatre and drama at the U-M since 1994.
Services on campus for Arati Sharangpani will be at noon Wed. (Jan. 22) in the Michigan Union Ballroom. Sharangpani was a resident adviser in Mary Markley Residence Hall and a senior studying German and organizational studies.
