Students, faculty and staff gathered Sept. 9 for the official naming of the Kessler Student Center in the newly renovated LSA Building. It provides a space for students at LSA and across the university to study, learn and connect.
The celebration was made possible due to a gift from University of Michigan alumni and donors Fred and Judy Wilpon, both of whom were in attendance. The building is named in honor of Judy Wilpon’s parents, Irene and Morris B. Kessler. The Wilpons have donated more than $75 million to U-M, including $61 million for the creation and expansion of the Kessler Presidential Scholars Program.
The Kessler Presidential Scholars Program, the largest scholarship community in LSA, supports first-generation college students throughout their four years on campus, offering a plethora of services including academic, financial and social support to help students thrive and foster community.
