Lenk named Sanford R. Robertson Associate Professor of Business Ad

Peter J. Lenk, associate professor of statistics and management science, will also hold the Sanford R. Robertson Associate Professorship of Business Administration.

His appointment, effective Sept. 1, was approved by the Regents at their September meeting.

“Funding for the Robertson Professorship is provided through a pledge from Sanford R. Robertson as part of the U-M capital campaign,” said B. Joseph White, dean of the School of Business Administration. “The purpose of the professorship is to encourage the most promising junior teachers/scholars to pursue worthwhile projects and to evolve into truly distinguished senior members of the faculty. Appointment to the professorship is for one year.

“Dr. Lenk is an extremely promising junior scholar working in the areas of Bayesian inference and decision theory, forecasting, marketing and information science,” White said.

Lenk joined the U-M faculty in 1989.
