Lecture will honor retiring SRC staff

The Survey Research Center (SRC), in cooperation with the Institute for Social Research (ISR), will hold a lecture honoring three recently retired members at 4 p.m. Fri. (Nov. 8) in Room 6050, ISR. “The Collective Legacy of the Mental Health Research of Gerald Gurin, Elizabeth Douvan and Joseph Veroff” will begin with an address by Leonard Pearlin, a leading mental health researcher and graduate professor of sociology at the University of Maryland. David Featherman and Rick Price will offer commentaries on the address and on the careers of Douvan, Gurin and Veroff. Douvan and Gurin founded the SRC and ISR. Veroff is on retirement furlough this year from SRC in his position as research scientist and as professor and graduate chair of psychology.Call 764-8363 for information.
