Learn how to use JOBNET at series of informational meetings

One-hour informational meetings about JOBNET, the University’s automated employment system for non-instructional staff hiring, will be held at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Thursday (July 8), Michigan Union Ballroom;

  • July 12, Ford Amphitheater, University Hospital;

  • July 13, East Room, North Campus Commons.

    With phase two of JOBNET, which will be introduced mid-July, instead of filling out three application forms and delivering one to each of the Personnel Service Centers, an applicant will fill out only one application and apply at whichever center is most convenient: the Office of Employment and Staff Planning at the Administrative Service Personnel Office in the Administrative Services Building; Schools, Colleges, Institutes and Libraries Personnel Service Center Employment in the LS&A Building or the Medical Center Human Resource Development Office in the 300 North Ingalls Building.

    Although jobs will continue to be posted electronically, in the Record and on the job posting boards, job seekers won’t have to check the postings weekly. Instead they can apply for job classification pools, making themselves available for consideration for open positions for which they qualify without bidding for each.

    Instead of submitting a Promotional Openings Program (POP) form and two copies of their resume each time they apply for a position, applicants will submit one application and fill out skills sheets to apply for a number of positions.

    Following brief presentations at the informational meetings, staff members will have an opportunity to obtain JOBNET applications and skill sheets.
