Kinder’s book analyzes factors that shape opinion on race
Divided by Color: Racial Politics and Democratic Ideals, by Donald R. Kinder, professor of political science, has been published by the University of Chicago Press. Co-written with Lynn M. Sanders, assistant professor of political science at the University of Chicago, the book analyzes the critical factors that mold people’s opinions on race-related issues, uncovering the relative importance of self-interest, group identity and ideological principles, as well as racial animosity.
