Blackburn, Lawrence co-author book
Robert T. Blackburn, professor of higher education, and Janet H. Lawrence, associate professor and associate dean at the Center for the Study of Higher Education, have authored Faculty at Work: Motivation, Expectation, Satisfaction, published by Johns Hopkins Press. The authors show how faculty and administrators can benefit from learning how to make motivation, expectation and satisfaction function together when faculty are at work.

 Linn receives Fulbright grant to lecture in Burkina Faso
William J. Linn, associate professor of English at the U-M-Dearborn, has been awarded a Fulbright grant to lecture at the University of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso during the 1995-96 academic year. Under the Fulbright Program, 5,000 grants are awarded each year to American students, teachers and scholars to study, teach and conduct research around the world.

 Remley recipient of Eastman Kodak Gold Medal
Frederick M. Remley was awarded the 1995 Eastman Kodak Gold Medal for his leadership in the integration of video recording and distribution as tools within higher education educational video facility design, and his work in standardization of video recording and advanced television systems. It is the purpose of this award to honor the recipient by recognizing outstanding contributions that lead to new or unique educational programs utilizing motion pictures, television, high-speed and instrumentation photography, or other photographic sciences. The award recognizes developments in equipment, systems, or instructional applications that result in advancing the education process at any or all levels.

 U of Chicago awards Sandalow alumni citation
Terrance Sandalow, Edson R. Sunderland Professor of Law, received the University of Chicago Alumni Association’s Professional Achievement citation. The award recognizes those alumni whose attainments in their vocational fields have brought distinction to themselves, credit to the university and real benefit to fellow citizens.
